Set up Vinaa for the first time

Complete the welcome steps, choose an AI connection, and prepare Vinaa for your first chat.

The welcome window introduces Vinaa and helps you connect an AI provider.

Complete the welcome steps

  1. Open Vinaa.

  2. Click Get Started.

  3. Review the workspace overview, then click Continue.

  4. Choose how you want to connect an AI provider.

  5. Follow the instructions for that provider.

  6. Complete the remaining on-screen choices, including iCloud sync and diagnostics.

  7. Finish the setup and open your workspace.

Choose a connection type

Vinaa offers three connection types:

  • API Key: Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral AI, xAI, or DeepSeek.

  • Local & Free: Connect a local Ollama or LM Studio server.

  • Subscription: Use Codex CLI with an eligible ChatGPT subscription.

You can click Skip for now if you are not ready. Add a connection later from Vinaa → Settings → AI Models.

Your API keys are stored securely in the macOS Keychain.

Open the welcome window again

To review onboarding later, choose Help → Show Welcome Window from the menu bar.
